Items added to the Items page are automatically ordered in a built-in sequence. Similar rules are used for ordering the MBS, ASA RVG and DVA item lists. All items on one date will be listed prior to any items on a later date. Items with no date will be placed at the bottom. Within each date, items are ordered as follows:

| 2. | Anaesthesia for... items or Whole body perfusion item, in descending order of unit value |
| 4. | Physical status modifiers |
| 5. | Other modifier items in ascending order of item number (except after hours emergency) |
| 6. | Any additional items such as pressure monitoring and line insertions, in ascending order of item number |
| 7. | After hours emergency modifier |
The ordering function inserts a number into the leftmost ordering column labelled #. You can customise the order by changing the numbers in the ordering column. Simply type in a new number and the list will be reordered. Click the title of this column (#) to remove all the order codes to start afresh. You should add all the items to the account before adjusting the ordering codes since adding a new item later will activate the AutoOrder function and reset the items to the default order.
If you wish, automatic ordering can be turned off in the Options form (Automatic functions page). If you do this, you can still activate the automatic ordering function for a particular account by clicking the Auto order button on the Items page.
