Nerve blocks administered during anaesthesia are considered by Medicare to be part of the procedure, and as such are covered by the anaesthesia base item.

The only nerve block items that are claimable in a anaesthesia service are 22031-22050. Items in the range 18213 - 18371 are only claimable if they are performed as a separate service, not in association with anaesthesia.
