Using WAG fees at Joondalup 2020

In December 2019, the WAG (WAGMMS) fee schedule for WA VMP providers was adjusted, with a unit rate of $40.85. However, some of the Ramsay hospitals in WA have decided to continue to pay according to the older rate of $39.95. These include Joondalup Health Campus and Peel Health Campus.

At present this is no simple way for AA to manage this difference for post December accounts. We offer the following suggestions for ways to work around this unusual situation.

1.Create the account using MBS items and set a MyOwn fee using $39.95 per unit. Doing it this way, you can't show WAG item numbers on the account, only MBS item numbers.
2.Set the operation date to earlier than 1/12/2019 before adding the WAG items. The items will be added with the 39.95 fees. Go back and change the operation date to the correct date, and AA will update the dates on the Items page, without automatically inserting the more recent WAG fees, so the 39.95 fees will remain. Note that if you subsequently add, edit or delete any items, the fees will use the more recent rate. If you make any changes, set the operation date back, reinsert the items, and reset the date back again.
3.Insert the items with the 40.85 fee. Double click on the % heading on the Items page, and enter the multiplication factor 97.7968. This will change all fees to 97.79% of the current rate (which is 39.95/40.85). If you add any items after this, they will get the correct 39.95 fee.
4.Send the account using the 40.85 unit rate and when the payment arrives, accept that part payment is accepted. This assumes they will pay the 39.95 rate no matter what you have on the account.

If required, it is possible to edit the fee values for individual items, by clicking the <Edit item> button on the toolbar below the items list.
