Some versions of Microsoft Office do not include Microsoft Access, for example, Office Home & Business.. In this case, Access Anaesthetics won't open and you need to install a 'Runtime' version of Microsoft Access.

Some versions of Office include a trial version of Access which is installed by default. In this case, Access Anaesthetics will run, but after a period of time you will get a message saying that the Microsoft Access trial period has expired [see below). You may be prompted to purchase Microsoft Access.

You don't need to buy Microsoft Access or upgrade your version of Office. Instead, install one of the free runtime versions of Access. These work in exactly the same way as the retail versions, except you cannot create your own databases. There are links to these on the trial version page.
