If you forget to include an item, such as an ASA modifier in your claim, it is probably best if you send a revised account manually with a letter of explanation. Alternatively, you could resubmit the account electronically with the missing item. If luck is on your side, the missing items may be paid, and the others rejected with the explanation that they have already been paid. While it is possible to exclude the paid items from the claim before resubmitting it, (see service text), this may cause the claim to be rejected because items like modifiers will normally only be paid if claimed in conjunction with other appropriate RVG anaesthesia items.
