Beginning 1 May 2020, there are 2 new age modifiers.

 

 

Both have a unit value of 1, and an MBS fee of $21.10 (May 2020). (Medicare reference is here.)

 

These replace the longstanding age modifier 25015 which was for patients aged either less than 1 year or 70 years or greater.

 

They also replace the recently-introduced modifier 25012 which was specifically for patients aged 3 - 4 years, and which was effective between 1 Nov 2019 and 30 April 2020.

 

Access Anaesthetics will automatically insert the correct age modifier according to the date of service and the patient's age, provided a suitable anaesthetic item exists on the account.
