Account data

For single users, the file AAUser.mdb contains all account, setup and Eclipse data. Moving the data is simply a matter of copying this file from the Access Anaesthetics folder on one PC to the other. This can be done via a USB drive, external hard drive, network or even by email.

The simplest method is to make a backup from the old PC to a USB or other drive, and restore it on the new PC. To do this go to Maintenance > Backup and specify the USB as the backup location. To restore on the new PC, go to Maintenance > Restore from backup. Navigate to the USB backup file and follow the prompts.

Group practices can do the same, but using the multi-user backup process. This copies all the data files (.aau files) and the site file (AASite.mdb).

Other data

You should also copy the contents of the C:\Access Anaesthetics\Documents and \Snapshots subfolders from the old computer to the new. This is not essential, but will give you access to your old document files. These files are not included in the backup described above.

Eclipse

If you have been using Eclipse, you should also copy the hic.psi file from the old PC to the new, saving it into the same folder as it was previously (usually C:\Access Anaesthetics). This means you won't have to reinstall your location certificate. You may also need to read How do I reinstall Eclipse?
