Error when compacting a doctor's file

Previous topic Next topic

Occasionally a doctor's data file may become corrupted (damaged). There are several different messages that you may get when this happens, for example 3112 (Record(s) cannot be read; no read permission on '|') or 3343 (Unrecognized database format).

You may get this message when trying to open the file, when compacting, when updating, or with some other procedures.

For single user practices, see this link.

For group practices ...

Open a different doctor's file and ensure that the problem doctor is not open on any other computer.
Go to Maintenance Menu > Repair Data File.
Select the problem file and click <Save>.
Follow the prompts to repair the data file.

Retry the process that caused the original problem, e.g. compacting, updating, opening the file etc.

If the problem persists, contact us for advice.
