NEW FEE SCHEDULES FOR BUPA FROM DECEMBER 2021

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From December 2021, BUPA’s state-based fee schedules will be changing to a national system using separate No Gap and Known Gap schedules.

AA has been modified to manage this process as seamlessly as possible.

Clients who are currently registered for Known Gap billing with BUPA and wish to continue this way don’t need to do anything.

Your fee preference can be set in AA for each individual provider and provider number. The default is for Known Gap billing.

Full details are given in this FAQ on the Access Anaesthetic website.

UPDATED ITEMS FILE Version 21.6

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The November Medicare schedule has been updated with a number of new items and deletions as described on the MBS Online News page.

There are no changes specific to anaesthetic services, and no notable fee changes.

Available health fund fee schedules have been updated.

The new BUPA fee schedules for December have been incorporated.

ING Health has become a part of NIB from 11 October 2021, as described here.

We anticipate a further update in early December to include the WA Govt VMP schedule, and various workcover schedules.

ASA RVG Unit Value Update to $91

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The AMA has published a new maximum recommended RVG unit rate of $91, effective from 1 November 2021. Because there is no obligation to use the maximum rate, it is up to the individual AA user to enter the rate they wish to use for regular accounts, or TP and WC accounts. This can be done in Options > Unit Values. A list showing the approved unit value history is provided on this screen for reference.

Program Update Version 10.12

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The latest version of the AA program is 10.12 with a number of miscellaneous changes as described on our What’s New page. This is mainly to accommodate the changes in the BUPA fee schedules so that setting fees is as seamless as possible.

The BUPA fee preference requires a change to the data structure of each provider’s data file. Consequently, the data structure conversion may delay the opening of AA immediately after the update, and when switching providers, until all the files are updated to version 10.1. Groups (excluding virtual server users) should note the additional highlighted procedure in the installation instructions below.
