UPDATED ITEMS FILE Version 20.4

The anaesthetic age modifier items have been changed, effective 1 May 2020.

 

Items 25012 (3-4 yrs) and 25015 (<3 or >=75) will be replaced by

 

25013 – Modifier – age less than 4 years

25014 – Modifier – age 75 years or over

 

There have also been a number of changes to diagnostic imaging and pathology items, which will not be relevant to anaesthetists. Please see the Medicare News page for more information, or for telehealth updates, the Covid-19 page. Some health fund fee schedules have also been updated where new schedules have been released. There will likely be more updates as these become available.

AHSA COPAYMENT CHANGE

From July 2020, known-gap accounts for AHSA will have a limit of $500 per episode of care. Previously AHSA funds allowed up to $400 per item. For more details see this AHSA notification.

•         AA has been updated to manage the new age modifiers. AA will insert the correct modifier according to the patient’s age and date of service.

•         From July 2020, known-gap accounts for AHSA will have a limit of $500 per episode of care. AA has been adjusted to show the appropriate warnings.
